If you have only 3 hours to discover Kuala Lumpur, then we would highly recommend you to experience the KL Hop On Hop Off City Tour Bus or  KLHOHO for short.

Recently, we had the opportunity to ride and experience the KLHOHO and as a KL born Malaysian, we must say it does cover the important highlights of the city.

Like its name, this double decker bus allows us to ‘hop on and hop off’ the bus at any of the 23 stops around the city. We can opt for either the 24 hour or 48 hour pass. Although tickets can be purchased via online or at any authorized agents, we find it very convenient that we can also purchase tickets on the bus.

For Adults its RM45 (24 hours) and RM 79 (48 hours)

For Children aged 5 – 12 years old is RM 24 (24 hours) and RM43 (48 hours)

The bus runs seven days a week from 9am – 8pm. On a normal traffic, a full round trip will take you between 2.5 – 3 hours. Today, they have 10 buses serving the route connecting you to over 40 attractions within the city. Among the major attractions are KLCC, Twin Tower, Bintang Walk, Petaling Street and Merdeka Square.

One of the unexpected things we enjoyed on the KLHOHO are some of the interesting facts about KL that we are unaware of, told by our on board guide. Some buses are equipped with prerecorded commentary of KL and some have tour guides that will share fun facts of KL all through the tour. Through GPS they also keep track of the whereabouts of other buses to ensure smooth running of the services.

The thing about Malaysia is its unpredictable weather. With its open top deck concept, rain can be a bit of a spoiler. But don’t worry, they do have covered section. However, according to the guide, the bus will continue their route come rain or shine.
