Spanning at the length of 13.5 kilometers, Penang Bridge is the second longest bridge in Malaysia and the fifth longest in Southeast Asia. The bridge is easily identifiable by its four towers standing at a height of 101.5 meters in mid span making it one of Malaysia’s iconic mega structure.
The bridge was open to public in September 1985 and handles an average of 70,000 vehicles daily, with some days reaching its full capacity of 100,000 vehicles.
In March 2014, Penang Second Bridge was open to public making it the longest bridge in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
