After its success in Kuala Lumpur, The Hop On Hop Off tour bus service has spread its wings to another town… Penang Island. Dubbed as the Penang Hop On Hop Off or Penang Ho Ho for short, this open top double decker bus is one of the best and fun way to discover Penang.

In our recent trip to Penang, we couldn’t resist to experience Penang the Ho Ho way. Unlike KL Ho Ho, Penang Ho Ho has 2 routes… the City Route and the Beach Route. With over 50 major attractions, you can choose to board the bus at any of the 33 designated stops.

What we love about the Hop On Hop Off concept is the flexibility to choose where we would like to stop. Also for those who are pressed for time, Penang Ho Ho is one of the most easiest way to see Penang as it takes approximately 3 hours to complete one full round. There are two types of tickets available, the 24 hour and 48 hour ticket, which means if you purchase your ticket at 11am, your ticket is valid until 11am the following day. Another thing, tickets can be purchased on board for our convenience.

Running seven days a week, you can board the Penang Ho Ho as early as 9am and it ends at 8pm. Currently, there are about 5 buses servicing each route and the intervals between each buses are between 20 – 30 minutes depending on traffic.

If you love taking photographs, we truly recommend you to try Penang Hop On Hop Off as it gives a different perspective of the city as the bus cruise in between the historical buildings and famous roads.
