The long tail boat is one of the iconic sights that could be found in Thailand. The prow of the boat will usually be decorated with colourful sashes and the reason behind these decorations is to provide good luck and protection. Thais are very superstitious and tying these cloth at the front of their boats is to honour “Mae Yanang”, the spiritual goddess of journeys.
